Raised air intake Snorkel
A vehicle snorkel is essentially responsible for feeding air into the engine to complete the fuel combustion cycle. In order to fit a snorkel, one needs to disconnect the original air intake system so that the engine receives air through the snorkel. Once this is done, the air will reach the engine through the snorkel and not the air intakes on the front bumper.
With this, we have essentially elevated the air intake to almost the roof of the vehicle, ensuring that air reaches the engine even when the vehicle is wading through water. Now, the snorkel itself is designed in such a way that produces a 'ram effect', which means that air is rammed into the engine when the vehicle moves.
