Rocksliders

Rock sliders are an aftermarket accessory popular with four-wheel drive vehicle owners who drive off-road more seriously and serve to protect your vehicle.

They are usually made of sturdy box section steel, although they can also be made of tubular steel. They run along each side of the vehicle, from just behind the front wheel to just in front of the rear wheel, just below the level of the sills. They are mounted on the chassis of the vehicle and their function is to protect the sills and door bottoms from damage when passing large obstacles (such as rocks - hence the name).
